Arthur Child Heritage Museum of the 1000 Islands is located right on the shores of the St. Lawrence River in picturesque Gananoque. Discover the rich history of the Islands through a number of exhibits that are designed to educate and entertain.

The Museum offers visitors an inviting setting to reflect on the history of the 1000 Islands. The building is reminiscent of the architecture prevalent during the late eighteenth century Golden Era. Learn about the formation of the Islands, or walk in the footsteps of the First Nations people. Discover the rich history of the early settlers, voyageurs and the combatants in the War of 1812. Visit the Golden Era of castles and cottages and the river highway of the past.
